Interactive Touchscreen Interface

Cockburn ARC, a large community recreation centre near Perth, engaged Amped Digital to design a touchscreen interface that would act as an interactive information hub for visitors. The screen needed to serve multiple purposes — showcase current events and programs, provide wayfinding support, and highlight local sporting figures — while being intuitive for users of all ages. The objective was to design an interface that was visually engaging, aligned with the centre’s bold and colourful brand identity, and simple enough for casual use in a busy public environment.

As the UI designer on the project, I created the full set of interface screens and content layouts. I developed a modular interaction flow that made navigation simple and predictable, allowing users to explore information without the need for onboarding or instructions. The visual direction leaned on strong colour blocking, playful typography, and consistent iconography to reinforce clarity and brand recognition. The final interface enabled visitors to quickly access event details, find their way through the facility, and explore a digital “Sporting Hall of Fame,” transforming a static wall display into an engaging, interactive experience.
