The goal of this project was to create an engaging illustrated children's book centred around the concept of counting animals found on the African savannah. Drawing inspiration from a trip to Kenya, the book aimed to transport young readers to the African landscape while also communicating the importance of animal conservation.
As a self-led university assignment, I took on the challenge of developing and following my own brief for this project. The solution involved creating a cohesive visual narrative through illustration and typography. By meticulously planning and handcrafting each spread, I aimed to engage young readers and transport them to the African savannah. Through the use of vibrant illustrations and captivating typography, the book effectively conveyed the message of animal conservation while also serving as an educational tool for counting.
